Where It All Began
The Bean started in the spring of 2003 on the corner of 1st Ave & East 3rd St in NYC’s East Village. When our original space was taken over in 2011, we didn’t lose hope we simply moved down the block, bringing our roots and regulars with us. From those humble beginnings, we’ve grown across the city while staying true to our neighborhood soul. The East Village will always be our home base, no matter where we go.
